Legacy

Legacy is more important than most people think.

If you look at 'old money' rich people they have achieved it through several generations of profit making, passing the legacy of their forebears onto their children.

'Captains of Industry' funded great works of philanthropy.  To leave and their legacy on society and show the way for their inheritors and any other ambitious soul who aims to follow in their footsteps.

There are even ideological legacies like the Milibands or the Benns.

A favourite phrase of mine and Ben's is:
"Standing on the Shoulders of Giants"
To build upon the legacy of those who came before us.

People need to remember that we don't just live for today, we live for tomorrow.  We need to give our children every advantage to succeed, i.e. beggaring our children for our comfort is madness.
